Junior Accountant

Reports to: Director of Finance & Accounting
 
The Advance Technology, Inc. Junior Accountant is a multifaceted position, with a variety of responsibilities, reporting to the Director of Finance & Accounting. The Junior Accountant is responsible for the daily and monthly functions of the entire A/R and A/P processes. In addition, this position will work closely with the Director of Finance & Accounting and the operations team to refine, document and implement effective and efficient work flows all while supporting the company mission:

Skills:
  • Knowledge in U.S. GAAP accounting and financial analysis
  • Strong analytical ability when reviewing and comparing financial data

  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
  • Ability to work, contribute and excel in a team environment.
  • Ability to multi-task in order to meet critical deadlines with the goal of quality financial data.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Manage the Accounts Payable process on a daily and monthly basis, including entering vendor invoices against item receipts, reconciling vendor statements, resolving vendor invoice issues and reconciling the general ledger during month-end closing procedures.
  • Work closely with the Purchasing Agent to resolve issues involving vendor pricing, item receipts and RMA paperwork.
  • Responsible for the entry of non-item receipt A/P entry on a timely basis with great attention to detail.
  • Monthly review of open item receipts and contacting vendors for missing invoices.
  • Work closely with the Accounting Supervisor and the operations team to refine, document and implement proper A/P processes and controls.  
  • Reconciliation and timely entry of the credit card statements into QuickBooks. This includes the collection of credit card receipts and reviewing GL coding of these receipts in QuickBooks.
  • Manage the Accounts Receivable process on a daily and monthly basis, including invoicing customer down-payments, progress billings and completed project & service tickets.
  • Responsible for making A/R collection calls to the customer and being pro-active in the collection process to reduce the aging and improve cash flow.
  • Review and reconcile the A/R sub-ledger to the general ledger during month-end closing procedures.
  • Work closely with the Accounting Supervisor and the operations team to refine, document and implement proper A/R processes and controls.
  • Serve as the back-up for the phones when needed.
  • Complete special projects assigned by the Director of Finance & Accounting in a timely manner.

The selected candidate will have: 
- Three years experience in the audio visual industry
- An understanding of basic IT network topology including network switches & ip addresses.
- A Strong passion for computer technology such as iPhones, tablets and digital cameras. 
- Experience and proven record in B2B sales.  
- Experience in the IT Network Solutions market is an asset.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to conduct installations including climbing ladders and using power tools
  • Possess a valid driver's license
  • Possession of CTS Certification and/or Crestron System Programming is an asset
